JUST FOR FUN.....

I thought it would be fun and also a good exercise for those of us who are going to listen to Mr. Obama's State of The Union Address on January 27th to print off this list and keep count of how many times he says the following phrases:

•"let me be clear"

•"make no mistake"

•"back from the brink"

•"signs of recovery"

•"restored our reputation"

•"fiscal restraint"

•"greed on Wall Street"

•"affordable health care"

•"relief for working families"

•"job creation"

•"inherited" as in "I inherited this mess"

And some I'd be interested hearing him say:

•"Constitution"

•"Founding Fathers"

•"Individual liberty"

Great post!! The first set of words are going to be inflated and multiplied to the enth degree while there will probably be no mention of the last set of words, the most imprtant words.

These catch phrases are a symbol of what the Democrat party has become. There is no mention of freedom, liberty or The Constitution. When American leaders fail to make our nation look back to the original intent of those who set up the greatest system of government the world has ever had and point at their intent, they fail country. When a party so drunk with power writes a law saying, “If you don’t buy into this we will fine you and we will jail you” then that party is not of the ideas and ideals set down by the documents we hold so dear. To say “let me be clear” puts an air of giving us an order to any phrase. To say “make no mistake” makes me say “The country already has by giving you any power at all!” Wall Street greed has never affected me. If they make jobs and provide services, they make money. You want greed? Look at communism and socialism and tell me the few haves do not govern the many have not’s. America has elected a president and a party with a tyrannical agenda and they are now just waking up to that fact.

Where is the liberty? Where is prosperity? Where are the jobs?

No one seems to know.

We only know where the lies are.

And the results are in.

•"let me be clear" - 0
•"make no mistake" - 1
•"back from the brink" - 0
•"signs of recovery" - 0
•"restored our reputation" - 0
•"fiscal restraint" - 0
•"greed on Wall Street" - 1 (if you're generous)
•"affordable health care" - 1
•"relief for working families" - 0
•"job creation" - 1 (and it was "job growth")
•"inherited" as in "I inherited this mess" - 0

But if it makes you feel better, he said "Constitution" twice.

You aren't very good at this game, are you?

Eric Graff said...

What makes me not very good at this “game”?

He referred to the former administrations’ policies at least 6 times (if you’re NOT generous) and if you think he said the word “job” once you’re just plain deaf. I see your name, if clicked on, leads to nothing more than a transcript of the speech. So if your REAL name is Barack, I have news for you, you’re not very good at economics, or war, or job creation, or affordable health care, or taking personal responsibility. If you were personally responsible, you’d link to something that tells us who you are. You come to this blog and take a swipe at me and my friends then run and hide in some dark cold corner of the web thinking you made some big impression on….someone.

We are unimpressed with anyone unwilling to own up to their words. You have too much in common with the man in the White House.

And yes, he did say Constitution twice, but no, I don’t “feel” better about him, or you, or your ilk.

I don’t feel sir, I know. I know your train wreck is coming. Your party, your socialist agenda and your President are about to slam into the wall called November 2012! Virginia, and New Jersey, and Massachusetts were all stops you could have got off at. You didn’t. Next stop, 2010.

See yah when those…”results are in.” And next time bring some stones, or don't bother coming at all.

It's strange. I give a speech offering assistance and tax credits for small businesses to create new jobs; ending tax breaks for companies that send American jobs overseas; student loans and helping Americans get higher education; and saying that we need to prohibit foreign money from influencing our elections. And you're opposed to all this?

So what are you in favor of?

(Incidentally, you also seem to be a little confused about the definition of "socialist.")

Eric Graff said...

I am in favor of you losing your job.
By the way, that speach you gave, you looked a lot like a guy who hates his job. Getting "Fed" up are we?

Why would you say "I don't quit!"? You thinking about quiting?

You sure didn't look happy last night. You looked like a guy in need of ...How should I put this... a CHANGE?

We can only HOPE!

Mr. B.O.,

Given your track record of accomplishing things since taking office ("jobs saved" doesn't count), it's tough to believe anything you say. You've merely turned out to be another politician (and actually less effective than most). You speak eloquently (when the teleprompter is functioning properly), but you really never say anything.

Barack Hussein Obama said...

Eman,
Why is the only thing that would satisfy you my early retirement? What, exactly, is bothering you? Specifics, now. Not random talking points like "socialism." If your problem is my "socialist" programs, you're going to have to name one of them.

Uncle Slam,
Look at the economy: latest indications are that the recession is almost over. Because of my programs.

Look at the "Doomsday Clock" published by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. Turned back, for the first time in almost 20 years. Because of my programs.

By the way, what is this fixation on the right over the teleprompter? Can anybody name me a single president since the Sixties who hasn't used one?

Eric Graff said...

You regulate everything you touch. You are a micro manager who desires complete control. You have lost the people because you have turned your back on freedom. Regulation and taxation of business, especially small business, will never unleash the power of the individual. Sucking the liberty from the economy has done nothing but inhibit growth and you can’t change that.

You seem to believe there is a need to redistribute wealth. You feel it necessary to tax banks: The very lifeblood of the economy, who then charge higher rates for money to business. This is stifling the growth you “SAY” you seek.

You pit the “haves” against the “have nots” and call it corporate greed. Tell me sir, what society is absent greed? What system of governing anywhere in the world has no greed? America runs on individuals perusing their passions and interests and profiting from them in order to make a living. You stifle the people by restricting them and the banks who lend the capital needed to pursue those passions. Only by getting this big bloated government out of peoples’ way can this country see a recovery that is robust and sturdy enough to sustain. You don’t see that.

Your need to micro manage, regulate big banks and “Cap and Tax” the energy needed to harness the American dream stops those dreams dead in their tracks. The dreams die, and America falls farther behind with each dying dream. Socialism, which mirror your ideas for change, doom countries who use that system. No socialist or communist economy has ever flourished. It is only capitalism that allows the masses to gain the footing needed to realize those dreams.

In short, what you propose is anti-capitalist. And capitalism made us the great country we are. You are leading us down the wrong path.

And I’m not just “wassailing” Dixie Bill.

"Uncle Slam,

Please, B.O., show us the "latest indications" to which you refer. Also, which programs are you talking about? It's evident that your cash for clunkers was a disaster. And weren't you supposed to be coming out with a program where we could trade in old washing machines for new ones? Your "programs" have resulted in over 10% documented unemployment. Aside from bailing out big banks and helping to further sink the domestic auto industry, what's been the result of your programs?

Oh, yes, and how can we forget, your crowning jewel: healthcare. What an impressive success that has been.

I can see the teleprompter issue went way over your head. It's not the fact that you use one, it's the fact that you are so dependant upon it. Kind of like your attempts to make citizens dependant upon the federal government.

And I notice you log in from Albuquerque...which makes me wonder...nah, couldn't be.

Eric Graff said...

I would like to comment on the teleprompter issue. It is the opinion of a growing number of Americans that your constant use of a teleprompter, even when speaking to Jr. and Sr. high school students, that you do not believe what you say. If what you were saying was written in your heart; If you were passionate about your ideas for America, you could express them without a prompter. If you really knew your ideas would work because you thought them out and could explain the process because you knew it backwards and forwards, there would be no need for notes or something to tell you what to say. Bullet points, sure, but not word by word sentences that bear little resemblance of what you really mean because you didn’t write them. They are written by some speech writer somewhere. Why can’t you explain to us, from your heart, what your goals and prescriptions are to fix the countries economic troubles? When you don’t have the prompter, you stammer and stutter and can’t seem to put thoughts to words.

It makes you seem simulated and disingenuous, not presidential.

You don’t believe what you say because you can’t say it without it being spelled out in front of you.

Any good communicator can explain himself without one. You can’t. You’ve shown that to be a fact. YOU CAN NOT DO IT.

Eric Graff said...

Bill, I believe we have been very specific and spot on point. Should you claim otherwise in your response, you would prove yourself to be ineffectual at even reading the truth, much less understanding it. Diogenes prompting your return and you heeding his plea shows you have very little backbone to stand against those who issue you ill advice. We await your response. It is 11:17 AM local time here in Wisconsin. I have been to Church, and now we wish to take you to school.

Barack Hussein Obama said...

Eman, obviously, we aren't going to agree on issue of regulation of banking issues, as you seem to believe that allowing them unfettered freedom to behave in whatever manner they desire will bring America freedom. Apparently you were asleep at the end of 2008.

On the teleprompter issue, I recommend you look for uncut video from the Republican retreat in my home state of Hawaii - a state which apparently seems foreign and exotic to the American people, until the GOP decides to go there.

There I am, alone in a room filled with Republican Congressmen, answering their questions.

Would you care to know how you can tell that I responded to them clearly and accurately? Fox News refused to air more than the first half hour or so.

Eric Graff said...

You say I was for “allowing them unfettered freedom to behave in whatever manner they desire”. They we doing the bidding of Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac: Two entities run by the House Banking Committee and its’ chairman, Barney Frank. You seem to forget your party was very involved with this sir. I had nothing to do with it. Putting blame on me is just nonsense.

I saw the video you speak of over the weekend. Your talk was halting and your delivery bore resemblance to a person trying to defend the indefensible. You spoke about coming together to solve the problems as if that invitation had been there since the start. YOU HELD HEARINGS IN THE CAPITAL BEHIND CLOSED DOORS! You invited no Republicans and CSPAN was only there for 1 hour. Yeah I heard you say it was logistically difficult, how convenient: You set it up that way. You broke the promise you made at least eight times during the campaign to televise the hearings.

You can’t even be honest about who you really are right here and now. It’s all a big dramatic game for you. All show; no real substance.

You point to one time when you worked without the prompter. Why did you need one for the young people at the schools?

Why no news conferences sine July? That’s over half a year! Why will you not face the growing numbers of skeptics on your policies? Why do you not address the data that was doctored about global warming and why the REAL numbers no longer exist? Why did they have to doctor the data? What about the emails which clearly state they changed the numbers? These are actual emails by the teams of scientists all over the globe that virtually explain how they changed the numbers and destroyed the true numbers. Why do you feel this is this something to be ignored and not worthy of an objective investigation?

These are all valid question Mr. President and just the tip of a growing iceberg of issues and events. Care to answer them?

And while we’re at it, Why are you masquerading as the President Bill? I'm still trying to get over the last President we had named Bill. Seems we know just who you are and you have no idea who you are. This makes your answers really hard to believe and in reality, total fabrication. You remember reality, don’t you Bill?

Uncle Slam said...

"...my home state of Hawaii"

I thought you were from Illinois? Of course, lately you've been showing up as being from New Mexico. Hey, are you like John McCain and have five houses all over the U.S.?

You still haven't provided any evidence of your programs ending the recession. Will you be able to provide those the next time you slither in?

(Oh, and setting back the Doomsday Clock a couple of minutes really isn't something you want to hang your hat on, is it?)

Uncle Slam said...

Nice, we're in a recession with over 10% unemployment and record foreclosures and B.O. and Congress are putting on a dog and pony show in Hawaii. Great leadership on display.

Barack?...Mr. Hussein?, I mean...Mr. Obama??? Are you still there???

...crickets chirping...

Wow...this is almost like talking to Fool Minnich (except he'd already have used the word "racist" a few times in reply and tossed a few expletives around like Rahm Emanuel does with BO when they are out of earshot at the Special Olympics.
